PHOTO: The Culebra Cut: A Man-Made Canyon that’s Part of the Panama Canal

The Culebra Cut is an artificial valley that forms part of the Panama Canal, linking the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Panama and hence the Pacific Ocean. Its total length is 12.6 km. Its construction was considered one of the greatest engineering feats of its time.
