Who was the “Black Dahlia”? – 1947

Her body was cut into two along the waist, while her face was cut into a horrible ear-to-ear grin.

On this day the body of a murdered 22-year-old girl named Elizabeth Park was found in a park in Los Angeles. Her body was naked and horribly mutilated. It was cut into two along the waist, while her face was cut into a horrible ear-to-ear grin.

Journalists called the murdered girl “Black Dahlia”, probably because she had been wearing black clothing the last time she was seen alive and as a parallel to the movie Blue Dahlia, which was popular at that time. The murderer was never found.
