Isabel Perón – the first female president of the country in history – 1931.

She met Juan Perón only after the death of his famous wife, Eve Perón, known as Evita (she was about 12 years old). She married him in 1961, when she was 30 and he was 66 years old.

On February 4, 1931, María Estela Martínez Cartas, later known as Isabel Perón, was born, the first woman in history to become president of a world state. She was the third wife of Argentine President Juan Perón and became president after his death. She was not elected to that position, but succeeded him as vice-president of her husband in his last (third) term. Specifically, Perón passed away in 1974, at the age of 79, after a series of heart attacks, and Isabel Perón then automatically became president of Argentina. She was just 36 years younger than her husband, and at the time she became president she was 43 years old.

She was born in La Rioja, northwest of Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires. She met Juan Perón only after the death of his famous wife, Eve Perón, known as Evita (she was about 12 years old). She married him in 1961, when she was 30 and he was 66 years old. After the mentioned Perón’s death, she became the first president in the history of Argentina (Evita was never president), but also of the entire world.
