1953: Ethnic Origin of Actor John Malkovich

A famous American actor of Croatian, Scottish, and German origin – John Malkovich – celebrates his birthday today. He was born in the small town of Christopher in the U.S. state of Illinois, but his father was a native Croat from Ozalj. Malkovich’s mother was of Scottish and German descent. As a child he had problems with being overweight, but he later managed to lose 35 pounds. Before becoming an actor, he did all sorts of things: he was the driver of a school bus, painter, gardener, and retailer of office supplies. He played his first film role when he was already 28 years old. He has starred in over 70 movies.
