Kansas became a US state

The capital of the state of Kansas is Topeka, but it is the largest city in Wichita, also known as the World Air Capital because of the many aircraft manufacturers based there.

On January 29, 1861, Kansas became the United States of America, the 34th in the order received in the United States. In Kansas today, the geographical center of the 48 US states (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) is located.

Interestingly, the Kansas City metropolitan area originated before the State of Kansas and is not located there but in the neighboring state of Missouri (received in the United States 40 years before the State of Kansas). Admittedly, to date, Kansas City has expanded so much that a smaller portion of it is also located in the state of Kansas (called Kansas City, Kansas, or abbreviated KCK). It is the capital of the state of Kansas Topeka, but it is the largest city in Wichita, also known as The Air Capital of the World because of the many aircraft manufacturers based there. Kansas is relatively sparsely populated compared to other states. Specifically, it is populated by only about 2,920,641 inhabitants, much like the predominantly desert state of Nevada (Kansas, in contrast, is highly cultivated in agricultural terms).
