Schwarzenegger has never lost his strong Austrian accent by which, apart from his massive body structure, he is particularly recognizable.



Arnold Schwarzenegger, an American politician, actor and bodybuilder who immigrated to the United States from Austria, was born on July 30, 1947. He was born in the small town of Thal near the Styrian capital Graz. Interestingly, Schwarzenegger’s birthplace is today arranged as a museum dedicated to him (Das Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum), and is located at Linakstraße 9 in Thal.

Schwarzenegger has been involved in fitness and body building since an early age, and at the age of 19 he left for the United States with only $ 20 and no knowledge of English. In the US, he first became famous as a body builder which is why he was nicknamed the Austrian Oak. He used the gained fame to break into the film industry, and he used his acting fame for his political career.

Interestingly, although he learned English, both as an actor and as a politician (Governor of California) he never lost his strong Austrian accent by which, apart from his massive body build, he is particularly recognizable.

He married Mary Shriver, of the Kennedy family, with whom he has four children,
