On this day in 1981, the severed head of Adam Walsh, murdered child of the wealth John Walsh, was found.

Adam Walsh is one of the most famous kidnap victims in the history of the USA. He was kidnapped and killed at the age of six, and the entire case still hasn’t been fully resolved.

Adam Walsh was kidnapped on 27 July 1981 near the Sears department store in the city of Hollywood, Florida (north of Miami).

Namely, he was at the store with his mother, who had left him near a kiosk with video games while she went to check out some other stores. When she returned, her son had disappeared.

Two fishermen found Adam’s severed head in a canal near Vero Beach, Florida, over 100 km away from the place of his disappearance. The rest of the body was never found.

The boy’s father, the wealthy John Walsh, then became an activist in the struggle against crime.

He was the host of Americas Most Wanted, and had his own talk-show, called The John Walsh Show. A film titled Adam was made on the topic of the kidnapping and murder in 1983.
