Steve was adopted by the Jobs family. He never made contact with his biological father, but he met his biological mother and sister (his biological parents subsequently married and had a daughter).

Steve Jobs was born on this day in San Francisco. His father and mother were two unmarried university students. Their names were Joanne Carole Schieble (of German – Swiss origin) and Abdulfattah “John” Jandali, a Syrian Muslim. They decided, even before birth, to put the baby up for adoption. He was adopted by the Jobs family.

Steve grew up in Silicon Valley in California. He did not graduate from college, but dropped out after one semester. He never made contact with his biological father, but he met his biological mother and sister (his biological parents subsequently married and had a daughter).

Steve Jobs reportedly even practiced Zen Buddhism during his life. He was known for driving a Mercedes SL 55 AMG with no license plates. Namely, he used a loophole in the California law that allowed the new vehicle to be driven for the first 6 months without license plates, so he leased a new Mercedes every 6 months.

He died of cancer on 5 October 2011 at the age of only 56. His fortune was estimated at 8.3 billion dollars.
