1935: Elvis Presley was Born with an Identical Twin Brother

Elvis Presley was born on this day at 4:35 in the morning, to Vernon Elvis Presley (who was only 18 years old) and Gladys Love Presley (aged 22). It is interesting that Elvis was born with an identical twin brother named Jessie Garon Presley. This brother came into the world 35 minutes before Elvis, but he was stillborn. Elvis’ full birth name was Elvis Aaron Presley. On his mother’s side, Elvis had partly Cherokee Indian ancestry. From childhood, Elvis’ favorite food was a peanut butter, banana and bacon sandwich. His hair was naturally fair, but he later dyed it black. During childhood, he had to wear jeans, which is why he did not like them in adulthood. Interestingly, Elvis never learned to read the score, but his voice reportedly had a range of more than eight octaves. It is also interesting that he had a black belt in karate. He died at the age of only 42 at his Graceland estate.
