The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the largest Arabian monarchy in the world, was established on this day in 1932.

The state was established during the rule of King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud. Namely, Abdul Aziz ibn Saud was also King of the Hejaz (where the cities of Mecca and Medina are located), and Nejd (where the city of Riyadh is located). He was a member of the Saud dynasty, which had ruled the area the area in the vicinity of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

It is interesting to note that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was one of the poorest kingdoms in the world when it was established in 1932. In fact, most of the country is a large desert, and at the time the only major “source of revenue” were pilgrims who were visiting the holiest places of Islam.

But, oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938, which enabled a vast accumulation of wealth during the rest of the 20th century. Today, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the head of the House of Saud, is the King of Saudi Arabia.
