A total of almost 300 million copies of Grisham’s works have been sold thus far. Nine of his novels have been adapted for the big screen.



 

This day in 1955 marked the birth of American writer John Grisham. He is known as one of the best-selling authors of today, and his works have sold a total of 300 million copies. John Grisham is best known for his legal thrillers, and he actually worked as a lawyer for some 10 years. He was also a politician of the Democratic Party.

 

Grisham wrote a series of bestsellers, and nine of his novels have been adapted for the big screen. Here is a list of his movies, together with the most famous actor(s) starring in each of them: The Firm (Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman), The Pelican Brief (Julia Roberts, Denzel Washington), The Client (Susan Sarandon, Tommy Lee Jones), A Time to Kill (Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Spacey), The Chamber (Gene Hackman, Chris O’Donnell), The Rainmaker (Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, Jon Voight), A Painted House (Scott Glenn), Runaway Jury (John Cusack, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman), Christmas with the Kranks (Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis). Grisham wrote a total of around 30 novels, and has diversified into other genres.
