Priscilla Ann Presley (née Wagner) was born on this day in 1945. Her parents were of Norwegian, Scots-Irish, English and German origin. Priscilla’s father James Wagner died in a plane crash when she was six months old. Her mother later married Paul Beaulieu.

Priscilla’s foster father was a United States Air Force (USAF) officer. When she was about 11 years ago they moved to Germany (there were many American military bases there).

Elvis Presley was drafted by the U.S. Army in 1958. He was in Germany when he met the 14-year-old Priscilla. They started a relationship, which lasted till 1960, when Elvis returned to the USA.

Priscilla and Elvis met again in 1961, when she was 16 years old. Her parents allowed her to go to the USA. Priscilla moved there next year, but their parents wanted her to attend Catholic school in Memphis (Elvis lived in the famous Graceland). Priscilla lived with Elvis’s parents, but he didn’t. They finally married in 1967, when she was 21 years old, and he was at the age of 32. Their only child, Lisa Marie Presley, was born exactly nine months after the wedding.
