On this day, at 1:00 am, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart died under mysterious circumstances, at the age of only 35 years. A short time before his death, Mozart was suffering from an unknown illness. Till the very end, he tried to complete his last work – Requiem, which he wrote by order of Count Walsegg.

It is interesting to note that Mozart’s last days were described by Sophie Weber, his wife’s sister, who nursed the sick Mozart before his death. Mozart’s funeral also remained filled with mystery. It is not fully explained why Mozart’s wife did not attend the funeral and why Mozart was buried in such a modest way. His body was buried in a common grave, which was not properly marked. That is why the location of the grave remains unknown.
